The 16th International Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution Symposium (iCACGP) and the 18th International Global Atmospheric Chemistry Science Conference (IGAC) were inaugurated by Datuk Dr. Ching Thoo A/L Kim, Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), at the World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur, 9-13 September 2024.
Held under the theme “Atmospheric Chemistry: From Local Knowledge to Global Sustainability,” this event brings together over 500 participants, including researchers, scientists, and non-governmental organizations, to share and discuss cutting-edge findings in atmospheric chemistry. The conference promotes global collaboration through a multidisciplinary approach to address issues related to air quality, climate impacts, and others. The event featured interactive sessions, workshops, and poster presentations, allowing participants to share ground-breaking research and forge collaborative partnerships.
Key discussions focused on sustainable solutions to atmospheric chemistry’s current and future challenges. Among the notable attendees were Prof. Chm. Dr. Ishak Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Talib Latif, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee.
